Our History

Metropolitan Area Communication Services (MACS) was established in August 2001 in Washington, D.C., by a group of five women who collectively bring over 150 years of experience in the field of speech-language and audiological care. For more than 20 years, MACS has been dedicated to serving the speech-language and audiological needs of communities in Washington, D.C., and Prince George’s County, Maryland. 

The organization has successfully provided diagnostic and therapeutic services within public and charter schools, as well as parent training and direct services in early intervention programs. MACS is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and delivering evidence-based services, ensuring that their clients receive comprehensive and effective care in all aspects of service delivery. Their long-standing commitment to excellence has made a significant impact on the communities they serve.
